Ms. Linda Carol Street-Scott, a beautiful soul of boundless generosity and grace, took her flight to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC. Born on May 22, 1969, at UNC Hospital, she was the beloved daughter of the late James L. Street, Sr. and Frances Carolyn McNeill.

Linda’s life was a living testament to selflessness. She truly never met a stranger, welcoming everyone she encountered with a radiant kindness. She was the type of person who would give what she did not even have to someone who already had everything, simply because it was in her nature to give. Over the years, her heart and her home were always open; she housed and sheltered many people, offering comfort and safety to anyone in need.

Her life was defined by putting others before herself, a truth beautifully illustrated even in her final months. Following a major surgery and hospital admission, Linda chose to set aside her own recovery to return home and aid her mother. She put herself last to ensure her mother was cared for with the deep, unconditional tenderness that only a devoted daughter could provide.

Her Journey and Service

In her early developmental years, Linda attended Warren Williams, W.B. Wicker, and West Lee Middle School, before graduating from Lee Senior High School. It was during these early years that she also drove the school bus—a beautiful reflection of what was to come later in life, as she consistently provided a means of transport, whether physically, spiritually, or in pure love, to numerous youth who are thriving today because of her impact.

Linda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a devoted, lifelong member of Love Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy since her youth, pouring her heart into the ministry. She was instrumental in helping to build a thriving youth department and dedicated her time to teaching notes to what would serve as one of the most influential children’s choirs in the city, the Jesus Kids.

Linda’s heart was always aligned with protecting and nurturing the next generation. She served in the area of child development as one of the most loved daycare teachers at the Love Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy’s Childcare Center. Affectionately known by all the children as "Ms. Ladybug," she dedicated herself to teaching, protecting, and making sure every child was deeply cared for, well-fed, and wrapped in her endless love. Her spirit of advocacy extended across generations, as she also served as a passionate advocate for the elderly and disabled residents of Stewart Manor.

Her Loved Ones

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lennon Donell Scott; her father, James L. Street, Sr.; her younger brother, Randy Street; and her older brother, James L. Street, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her mother, Mrs. Frances Carolyn Street of Sanford, NC; two sons, Michael Newby and Eric Street, both of Sanford, NC

The Children of Her Heart: Those she did not birth, but claimed, loved, and raised as her very own through the beautiful bond of relationship: grandson, Noah Wallace; godson, Aiden Williams; special friend, Angelo McLean of Sanford, NC; sister-in-love, LaKimbrelle Street of Sanford, NC; Goddaughter, and Destiny Clemons (Michael and Shonda Moncrease) of Harnett County, NC

She also leaves behind a vibrant legacy held dearly by a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Resting in Peace

Though Linda will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, profound strength, and unconditional love will forever remain the heartbeat of those who knew her. She touched countless lives through her compassion, her dedication to children, and her protective care for the elderly. May her beautiful memories bring comfort and peace to her family and friends, and may she rest eternally in the peaceful presence of the Lord.
