Lewis Mitchell Walker

Lewis Mitchell Walker known to friends at “Mitch” was born August 21, 1942 in Lee County, NC he was the son of the late Walter Mitchell Walker and the late Mary Jennings Walker.  He answered his call to the Lord on May 26, 2020 at 7:43 a.m. at Central Carolina Hospital.

Lewis was very “Special” to so many in our family, always there to support us until the end. Lewis made a living driving trucks for 53 years.  He traveled many miles from East Coast to West Coast. He loved his job; it was his passion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Walker, James Walker and Eloise Walker and two sisters, Beatrice Woodson and Verline Bethea.

Lewis leaves behind to cherish his memories, one daughter, Roshanda Wilson of Sanford, NC; two sons, Weldon Walker (Glenece) of Lillington, NC and Jeffery Walker of Houston, TX;  one sister, Katherine Richardson of Spout Springs, NC; one brother, Festus Neal Walker (Ula) of Virginia Beach, VA; fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, two special nieces, Jackie  Goins (Larry) and Marcie Stroud; a  special friend, Diane Martin and a Large Trucking Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family receive friends at the home of his son, Weldon Walker at 239 Judi Lee Rd., Lillington, NC 27546
