Levi Lewis Evans

Mr. Levi Evans, age 74 of 784 South Plank Road Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center.

Mr. Levi L. Evans transitioned into eternal life peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021.  He was born October 7, 1946 to the late Levi L. Evans Jr and the late Omelia Harrington Evans. Levi was born and raised in Sanford, N.C.

Levi loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and brother and sister.  He loved his wife Elion “Agg” of 49 years, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2018.  He loved sports, hunting, and the outdoors.

Levi worked for Jeffers Logging Company for over 25 years as a heavy equipment operator/trainer. Levi was a master at the craft of operating machinery. Oftentimes, what would take others weeks to figure out, would only take him minutes. One of his many quotes was, “It could always be worse”.

Levi is preceded in death by his wife, Elion Evans; mother, Omelia Evans; father, Levi L. Evans Jr., and brother, Willie Evans.

Levi will leave his legacy to be carried on through his children: Vera Guyton of Cameron, NC, Tim Evans Sr. (Roz) of Abilene, TX, Nina Crump (Barry) of Moncure, NC, Alfred Evans of the home, Patrick Lindsey (Sheila) of Sanford, NC, Derrick Evans of Sanford, NC, and His grandson whom he raised, Darelle Evans (Shekita) of Sanford, NC; his sisters, Joyce Williams (Stanley) of Sanford, N.C, Martha Harris (David) of Maryland, and his brother, Anthony of Sanford, NC; grandchildren: DeMario “Kai”, Jeffrey, Janay, Chanell, Tiana, Tim Jr., Elijah, Lucas, Kobe, Alfred Jr., Tiffany Smith, Tobias, Tiffany Spruiell, Derrick Jr., Tavist, and Trinity; ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
