Levern Tolson, Jr.

Mr. Levern Tolson, age 63 of 1704 Carr Creek Rd, Sanford, NC passed on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Duke Raleigh Hospital, Raleigh, NC.

Levern Tolson Jr., eldest son of the late Emily Rose and Levern Tolson Sr., was born on March 20, 1955, at City Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Following school, he worked for the State of Maryland and Waverly Press, Inc.  He relocated to Sanford N.C. where he worked for Ford Motor Company Auto and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.  

Levern met and married his loving wife, Loretta Jean Sellars on June 19, 1997, they continued to reside in North Carolina until his death.

Levern as he was affectionately called "J.T.", transitioned this life on February 15, 2019, at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, N.C. with his loving wife Loretta, children, sisters, brother and brother-in-law around him. Before peacefully slipping away into eternity, he laughed with them, told them he loved them, hugged them, and thanked them for being there. A quiet, peaceful soul, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings.  He spent his past-time watching movies - of which he had an extensive collection - constructing jigsaw puzzles, traveling and collecting historic memorabilia.

Levern is survived by his devoted wife, Loretta Jean Sellars Tolson; two daughters, Yolanda and Ashley Tolson; two grandchildren; six sisters, Lynne Tolson Leonard (Wardell), Leah Tolson Gross (Greg), Chandra Renee Tolson, Karen Marida Tolson Curry (Jeffrey), Alishia Tolson Hilliard (Delmar), and Stephanie Ann Tolson Holmes (Ancil); one brother, Dexter Tolson, Sr. (Vickie); four brothers-in-law,Timothy Covington, Bernard Hollingsworth, Curtis Sellars, and Everette Sellars; one sister-in-law, Latrice Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 4315 Mary Ridge Drive, Randallstown, MD 21133
