Mrs. Laura McNeill, age 70 of Broadway, NC entered eternal rest on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sanford, NC.
LAURA WALKER McNEILL, who was affectionately known as LISA, was born on April 15, 1956, in Coats Township of Harnett County, North Carolina as the last descendent to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Vester Bright and Susie Woodall Walker.
LISA matriculated through the Harnett County (NC) Schools and laid her spiritual foundation at her paternal grandfather’s church – Linden Chapel Church (now Grace Christian Ministry), Bunnlevel NC.
Her many places of employment included serving as a caterer at the former Coca-Cola Company, Sanford NC. This is where she perfected her best delicacies – her mouthwatering chicken salad and delightful potato salad.
In addition to her passion for cooking, LISA loved family gatherings that included music and dancing. As her health declined and her mobility became stagnant later in life, LISA remained committed to her family and carried the role as our family matriarch with grace and dignity.
In the late hours of Monday, June 15, 2026, our treasure, LAURA WALKER McNEILL, closed her eyes, breathed her last breath, and made her home in eternity with her loved ones forever around the throne of God. Welcoming her home were those who preceded her in death: her eldest daughter: Davina Walker; her parents: Vester and Susie Walker; and all of her siblings: Mary Walker, Hazel Walker, Lula Savannah Walker Reid, Thelma Pauline Walker McKay, Helen Walker Bryant, Lula Corena Walker Bass, Harvey Walker, James Clarence Walker, Gregory “Craig” Walker, Hosea Von Walker, Cornell “Brother” Walker, Vester B. Walker, Jr., and Gene H. Swann.
LISA leaves a legacy of love, her contagious smile, and memories with her daughters: Rona Anderson (Robert) of Cameron NC and Eronda Maina (Mathew) of Suitland MD; her son: Eronus “EJ” McNeill, Jr. (Tierra) of Bunnlevel NC; 14 grandchildren, including grandson, Laurice McKinnis of Sanford NC, whom she raised as her own; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Louise Walker of Winston-Salem NC and Mary Bell Swann of Raleigh NC; generations of nephews, nieces, and cousins; and countless friends.
