Obituary

Mr. Larry McLeod Pulley, age 73, of Sanford, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was born to Mrs. Cleo McLeod Pulley and Mr. Lonnie Pulley II on April 16, 1952.

Larry was born and raised in Sanford, North Carolina. Ambitious from an early age, he left home to join the military, where he served for three years and naturally took the lead in every situation. A man of fearless resolve, Larry saved his battalion during an attack and earned an honorable discharge from the Army. When Larry returned home, he was known for his outgoing personality and sharp attire, Larry truly enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved spending time with the fellows “on the corner,” catching up on old times and sharing laughs. Though his life journey took an unexpected turn, Larry spent his final years reconnecting with loved ones, leaving behind a message of hope and the promise of new beginnings. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. In our hearts, he will live on as long as memories remain. In the words of Larry,“ One Love!”

He is preceded in death by his twin girls, Ophelia and Patricia Swann, son, Daryl Johnson, mother, Cleo Pulley, and brothers, Lonnie Pulley Jr. and Ronnie Pulley.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Larry M. McLeod, Sanford and Terrence Bland (Tasha), Sanford, NC; five grandchildren, Larry M. McLeod Jr, Terrence Bland Jr, Kenya Bland, Jourdin Bland, and Brooklyn McLeod; his father, Lonnie Pulley Sr. of Sanford, NC; four sisters, Dolinda Pulley of Sanford, NC, Wendy Pulley of Miami, FL, and Ginger Pulley (Terry) of Sanford, NC and Tracy Pulley (Tim) of Raleigh, NC; one brother; Randy Pulley (Gidget) of Sanford, NC; two special cousins, Pamela Martin of Sanford, NC and Miriam Hill (Jimmy) of Maysville NC; one special brother, Michael Gill of Raleigh, NC; two long life friends, Vanessa Swann and Mrs. Freddie Bland of Sanford, NC, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
