Larry Marshall McAuley

Larry Marshall (Woot-Woot) McAuley was born in Sanford, NC June 21, 1967, to Larry Allen and the late Joanna McAuley. He transitioned peacefully at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital supported by his wife and family.

Larry attended school in Harnett County where he graduated and received his diploma from Western Harnett High School with the class of 1985.

Larry, or “Woot-Woot” or “Boot” as he was affectionately known, worked many years in the hospitality industry, where he met and befriended many people who became more like family to him. He always had a positive attitude and showed love to everyone who had the pleasure of being in his presence.

In 1992, Larry met the love of his life Helen “Cootney” Hill. From the beginning, they knew they were made for each other. She even remembers what he was wearing the night she met him. On October 10, 2003, they were united in holy matrimony.

He is preceded in death by his mother Joanna McAuley, his sister Judy Allen and his sister-in-law Maudie Mae Hunter.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memories; his wife Helen “Cootney” McAuley; his father Larry Allen (Lucille) and step-father Sydney “Al” Akins.”; his brother, Marco McAuley, Sr. (Tracy); three sisters; Crystal Akins, Natalie Giruad (Ariel), Nicky McGilberry (Shawn); three sisters-in-law; twins Barbara Lee and Barbara Lue Hill and Mildred Fox; one brother-in-law; James Lewis; two special friends who were like brothers: Tony “Tone” Johnson and Wendell Hill; "one very special great-niece; Alexis McKenzie "Pinky" Hill-Lilly"  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Knotts Funeral Home. 

The Family will receive friends from 3:00PM - 7:00PM at the home of his brother Marco McAuley 188 Willow Ridge Drive, Sanford, NC 27332 (MASK REQUIRED)
