Larry is a graduate of Sanford Central High School in 1970.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Evelyn Hooker; brother, Robert E. Hooker; and grandson, Devon.

He leaves behind his wife, Rachel A. Hooker of Sanford, NC; his children Angie of Vass, NC; Stephanie (Willie) of Cameron, NC, Demetrius, Jonel, LaTroy of Hope Mills, and Natalie of Sanford, NC; six grandchildren; Eric Lamont (Branisha) of Charlotte NC, Kidrick of Vass, NC, Janiya, Jonel Jr., and Lakar, all of Sanford, NC, and Nevaeh of Spring Lake, NC; two great-grandchildren; Xavier Zaire Smith and Zymir Devon Smith, both from Charlotte, NC; one brother; Louis (Mary) of Sanford, NC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
