Once upon a time, there was a child born on November 27, 1980. She was full of love for all people with whom she came in contact. But before I go on, I must tell you that after she was born, she developed meningitis. She had a long hard road trying to get well from this dreadful infection but she recovered. This disease limited her talk, walk, and learning which most people take for granted. She graduated with the class of 2003 and developed a love for puzzle books and books.
Today we lay to rest our beloved girl of 41 years. She loved her birthdays and kept up with everyone’s birthday that crossed her path. Lamond is preceded in death by her aunts, Carolyn and Wilma Battle; Grandmother; Sophia E. Battle and Grandfather, Wilbert L. Battle.
Lamonda leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Christine Battle Talley; two brothers, Darius Talley and Allison Battle; one uncle, Bobby L. Battle (Belinda Faye); cousins, Quentin Battle, Byron Battle, and James “Bootney” Dawson; Bobby Lee Battle Jr.; Jessica and Melisa Battle and a host of other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to my neighbors who came to my rescue on December 20, 2021. My friend Katina always remembered Lamonda's birthday and Edith Jones. Special Thanks to her teacher, Mrs. Joyce Stewart who walked with her across the stage at Western Harnett High School class of 2003.
