Mrs. LaDonna Michelle Moton, age 58 of Sanford, NC, transitioned into eternal rest, Saturday, April 10, 2021, UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.
LaDonna Michelle Savoy Moton age 58 of Sanford (born and raised in Church Point, LA) gained her heavenly wings on April 10, 2021. After a courageous battle with cancer, LaDonna will reunite with mother Ella Mae Savoy, father Hayward Savoy Sr., brothers Hayward Savoy, Jr. and Sidney Savoy.
LaDonna was born in Church Point, LA on November 4, 1962, to Ella Mae “Jane” Savoy and Hayward Savoy Sr. LaDonna was a one-of-a-kind lady of deep faith and filled with lots of laughter along with her loving heart. Truly no one could compare to her. Throughout her years on earth, some may have called her an angel from heaven with her big smile and personality; she was a true friend, mom, wife, and a person of deep faith. Her faith and belief in Jesus Christ always remained the constant rock and forefront in her life, even through her sudden illness. LaDonna was a very giving lady, whether it be with volunteering at the church or kids’ events, and most importantly, her wisdom. LaDonna was a military wife to her husband Leslie Moton, giving him support while courageously defending our nation as LaDonna courageously held down our home front. LaDonna was well-loved and respected as she was a mentor for our church family and friends, the team mom for Cordell’s football team, and the cheerleaders' coach. Her favorite motto of “suck it up” was what she would tell Shaunie while having their many mom and daughter “talks”. When having debates with her oldest son BJ, LaDonna would always have the last say while they would talk about politics or the latest social media trends. LaDonna was an awesome mother to her bonus daughter Jordan and bonus son Quinten. She treated her husband's children as if they were her biological kids. She provided them with love, care, direction, and mentorship.
LaDonna attended Blandonia Presbyterian Church, Sanford, NC where she was involved with her church community while serving on the women’s committee and “Friends and Family” team. She thrived on connecting with individuals in the community creating environments for fellowship and fun, and most of all, finding a reason to praise and serve her Lord.
Left to cherish LaDonna’s memories is her husband of 15 years, Leslie A. Moton; three sons Joseph “BJ” Soileau of Sanford, NC, Cordell (Stacy) Soileau of Sanford, NC, Quinten Moton of Denver Colorado; two daughters Shaundra “ Shaunie” Soileau of New Orleans, LA and Jordan Moton of Charleston, SC; twin grandsons Samson and Soloman of Sanford, NC; sister Lisa (Edward) Charles of Bunkie, LA; nephews Isaiah and Daniel of Bunkie, LA; adopted brothers Ricky (Sabrina) Baldwin of Sanford, NC and Don Moye of Sanford, NC; LaDonna also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of
aunts, uncles, godchildren, family, and friends.
