Koy Edward McNeill

Koy Edward McNeill, age 59 of 422 Family Lane, Broadway, NC passed on Friday, June 26, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Koy “Edward” McNeill was born on August 13, 1960 to the late Mr. Koy Lee McNeill and Mrs. Flora Margaret McNeill. He entered into his eternal home on Friday, June 26, 2020 at his residence in Broadway, NC. He was a life-long resident of North Carolina and attended the local school system. In adulthood, Edward attended Rock Spring Free Will Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing the lead guitar.

Although he lost his parents at an early age he was always surrounded with the love of family. It is said that a double 1st cousin is genetically equal to a half sibling. But for us, growing up together he was the eldest brother no halves about it. Edward was a nature boy who enjoyed the great outdoors (fishing, hunting, you name it and he did it). He always greeted people with a smile and he always had a funny story to tell that would cause you to laugh no matter what was going on. Always willing to help anyone in any way that he could. The Ponderosa just won’t be the same without its “Mountain Dog”.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents: Koy Lee McNeill and Flora Margaret McNeill; a devoted grandmother, Alberta Buie Bates and an uncle, Arthur William Bates who was like a father.

He is survived by a special aunt, who was like a mother, Jean Elizabeth McNeill Bates of San Diego, CA; a sister, Ann McNeill, NC; double 1st cousins, Cynthia “Lisa” Wall (Michael) of Pine Bluff, NC; Arthur “Ernest” Bates of Lillington, NC; Lester Bates of Lillington, NC, Juanita Sparks (Anthony) of Sanford, NC and Annette Kennedy of San Diego, CA and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
