Kevin Doyle Richmond

Kevin Doyle Richmond, age 56 of 1620 Prosperity Dr., Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family will not be receiving visitors at their home during this time.

Kevin was born on July 14, 1964 in Sanford, NC to James and Roberta Richmond. Kevin spent his youth in Saginaw, Michigan, where he attended elementary school, Webber Middle School, and Saginaw High School. Friends of his graduating class in 1982 would remember Kevin as a star football athlete with an infectious smile and loving character. After high school, Kevin attended Virginia State University with a football scholarship. He later relocated to Sanford NC, where he began working for Coty Cosmetics for over 30 years. Kevin was also extremely active in the Brick City Elks Lodge #688. Kevin and his lodge brothers were known for their outpouring of love and support, and mission work in the community. He made an enormous impact to those he knew in Saginaw and Sanford with his kind spirit. Kevin was a big brother to all who knew him, and touched the lives of many.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Darnell (Nicole) Phillips of Sun Prairie, WI, Mychal Sangster of Missouri, Antwon Richmond of Antioch, TN, and Richada (Leon) Brown of Antioch, TN, his grandchildren Janaya, Mychal Jr, Ny’Asia, Maddux, Pharadise, DaVarion, Aleah, Per’yai, and Paige, grandparents Edward and Vergie Hooker of Huntsville, NC and Annie Brown of Sanford, NC. Additionally, he leaves behind siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends. Kevin was a godfather to many and loved by all. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Roberta Richmond, and Grandfather, Robert Brown.
