Kathryn Snipes, age 67 of 1213 S. 7th Street. Sanford, NC passed on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at her residence.
Kathryn Baldwin Snipes was born on November 3, 1952, to Douglas and Betty Allen, entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. She received her education at W.B.Wicker School.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John H. Blue. She was married Mr. William Snipes for 47 years.
In her earlier years she worked for Gus’ Greek restaurant, Convalescent Care Rest Home, and retired from Pilgrims Pride Poultry.
Kathy lived her life doing as much as she could for her family, church and anyone else she could help. She loved family gathering especially at her mother’s house. Kathy kept smiling, whenever you saw her and sometimes even a laugh, when lovingly teasing.
Kathy faithfully served her church as Financial Secretary, Director of the Young People’s Christian League (YPCL), member of the choir, and kitchen committee. She was committed to going out visiting the sick in the rest homes with her pastor and other members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Douglas Allen; brother, Timothy Mark Allen, and a friend, Ms. Gloria McLain.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, William Snipes of the home; sons, Ray, of Killeen, TX, Steven (Camelia); stepson, William Evan Snipes Jr.; daughter, Rhonda Johnson all of Sanford; thirteen grandchildren (Octavias) and Kayanna; twenty great-grandchildren; mother, Betty Allen, three sisters: Crystal McNeil, Terri Davis (Robert), and Ophelia Boykin; five brothers: Billy, James, Donald Baldwin (Christine), Sherman Baker, all of Sanford, and Leon Allen of Charlotte, NC; one aunt, Mary Davis (Frazier); two uncles, Charles, and Robert Baldwin (Faye) of Sanford, NC; brothers-in-law: Clyde, Phillip Snipes; four sisters-in-law: Joyce Ann Snipes, Janie Snipes, Cynthia Smith (George), and Veta Smith (Johnny) all of Sanford; special friends: Ms. Carolyn Griffin and Ms. Reneta Alston; twenty five nieces, Diaundra McLeod and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friend.
