Ms. Karen Sabrina "Brina" Murchison, age 66, of Sanford, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sanford, NC.
Obituary
Karen Sabrina Murchison was born on November 17, 1959, to Margaret and Harold Murchison in Sanford, North Carolina. She was their second child. Known affectionately as Brina she was a free spirit who loved deeply and fiercely. She transitioned to be with Lord on April 11, 2026.
Sabrina loved life and she loved her family. She enjoyed family dinners especially her mother's sweet potato casserole. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sabrina faced struggles in her early life that would cause many to give up but she fought to get her life and her family back in later years.
In 2012, Karen suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed on her left side, but she still kept her fighting spirit. In 2021, she endured an amputation to her right leg and through the years she battled many health concerns but through it all she fought for her life and her family.
She was a complex woman who was loved more than she knew. In later years she gave her life to the Lord. She leaves a legacy of reconciliation and love.
Karen leaves to mourn her memory, her mother Margaret Murchison of Sanford, NC; three daughters; Cherhonda Murchison of Perry Hall, Maryland, Asia Murchison of Sanford, North Carolina and Kimberly Thompson-Squires of Mt. Holly, New Jersey; a son in law, Abe Squires; a beloved grandson, Ezekiel Chandler of Lillington, NC; two sibilngs, Priscilla Gould of Sanford, NC and William Clayton Murchison of Sanford, NC; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins who remember her smart aleck humor and her fighting spirit.
