Ms. Judie M. Rice, age 79 of Durham, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, NC.
Good day everyone. Thanks to all of you for taking time from your day to share with me and my family. If you are reading this obituary means I’ve passed and gone to be with the Lord.
I was born in Rocky Mount, N.C. on November 19, 1942, to Esther Bellamy and the late Walter C. Bryant.
I attended Lincoln School before continuing my high school years at Booker T. Washington High School. While there, I participated in the band, the Drama Club, and the National Honor Society. I graduated with HONORS in the Class of 1961. I later graduated from Fayetteville State College (Fayetteville State University) in English and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I participated in the band and became a member of the “AKA SOCIETY”. I received a degree in Funeral Service (embalming and funeral directing) in 1989.
I am survived by my mother, Esther Bellamy; my beloved children, sons Leonardo M. Moore (Garwynne); Victor R. Moore (Slyvia), Curlie M. Moore, and Anzio M. Williams (Nadine); daughter LaTonja Williams; grandchildren; Keesha, LaTanya, Victor, Ashley, Brittany, Adante, Zachary, Jamaal, Jamyiaa, Lil Anzio; five great-grands, Taylor, Saige, Major, Kamare and Bennie Jr., sisters; Hilda, Carolyn, Patricia, Susie (Robert); brothers; Carl, Donald and Ralph (Leslie); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; specials friends; Edna, Yvette, Reggie, Allen, Raymond, and Jerry. Thanks to you all for helping make my life better. May God continue to richly bless each of you until we meet again. I love you all.
Waiting for me at Heaven’s Gates are my father, Walter C. Bryant; grandparents; Curlie and Martha Moore, uncles Curlie Jr. and Jesse Moore; brother; Rudolph Bellamy. So grandma, prepare a good soul food dinner with country steak, and mashed potatoes with gravy. I’ll be there soon.
