Ms. Josephine (Woods) Graham, age 91, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sanford, North Carolina.

Obituary

Ms. Josephine Woods Graham of Sanford, North Carolina was born May 15, 1934.  Josephine was the second born daughter to the late Joseph Woods and Lessie Thompson.  Josephine departed this life on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sanford, North Carolina

Josephine was educated in the Lee County School System and worked as a domestic worker for several years. She also worked in the Lee County School System and worked at Coty until her retirement.

Josephine was a faithful member of Tempting Congregational Church where she served as a deaconess, church and missionary secretary, senior usher, Sunday School teacher and was on the Senior Choir.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Graham, her parents, Joseph Woods and Lessie Thompson Woods, two brothers and two sisters.

To know her was to love her.

Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Roy Graham, and Gary R. Graham (Michelle); two sisters, Claretha Johnson and Patricia McKeithen; one brother, Melvin Woods (Brenda); one sister-in-law, Lula Woods; two brothers-in-law, Lacy Graham (Arelia) and Grant Graham, Jr. (Katherine).

Josephine also leaves her six grandchildren, LaKisha Graham (special granddaughter), Gary A. Graham (Tiffany), James Graham, Kiara Bynum, Christopher Monroe, Jr.  and Sasha Goldston; six great grandchildren, Izayah Graham, Lanijah Graham, Makaylah Graham, Kenndi Graham, Rosalind Monroe, Layla Goldston; a very special niece, Fonshelle Yvonne Osborne and a host nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
