Mr. Joseph Kennedy Scurlock, age 61 of Pittsboro, North Carolina transitioned into eternal rest Thursday, January 13, 2022, at his residence.

Joseph Kennedy "Joe Bird" Scurlock was born December 2, 1960, to the late James and Bernice Scurlock. Joseph attended Horton Middle and Northwood High Schools.

He was preceded in death by his sisters; Ruby Caldwell, Willie Mae Gray, and brother; Burnice Gray.

He is survived by his son; Cordell Rone of Pittsboro, NC, three sisters; Sandra Foxx of Bonlee, NC, Diane McKinney of Pittsboro, NC, and Cynthia Taylor of Chapel Hill, NC, two brothers; James Scurlock (Princetta) of Walkertown, NC and George Scurlock of Siler City, NC, one uncle; J.D. Taylor of Pittsboro, NC, one aunt; Faye Crump of Yonkers, NY and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Special thanks to his nephew; Kendrick Edwards and niece; Tamika Pearson.
