Johnnie Crawford (Sap) Green

Mr. Johnnie Crawford Green, age 85 of 3224 Hwy 902 Pittsboro, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC.

Johnnie Crawford Green was born June 18, 1935 to the late Johnnie and Ella Beatrice Green in Chatham County, NC.  He gained his heavenly wings on December 17, 2020 at UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill, NC.

Johnnie Crawford Green, affectionately known to family an friends as "SAP", was the fifth of six children: Willie Gladstone (the late Margie), Garland Sr. (Catherine), Lake (Bobbie Jean), Armiller (Andrew), and Leonard (Mary Lou), all of whom preceded him in death.  He was a graduate of Horton High School, class of 1953.  He was a lifelong member of Glovers Grove AME Zion Church in Siler City, NC.

He met and fell in love with Cladie Mae Headen and to this union four sons were born: the late Willie Norris, the late Jasper, Timothy and Anthony.

Johnnie "SAP" Green retired from Hadley People Cotton Mill in Siler City.  In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and spending time with family and friends.  He never met a stranger and regularly hosted family and friends at his home in Pittsboro.  He did all these things until his health declined.  He lived a great life and fought a great fight, with the Lord having the final say of, 'Well done my good and faithful servant."

Johnnie "Sap Green leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Cladie Mae; two sons, Timothy (Ella Mae) of Siler City and Anthony (Savonne) of Pittsboro; two daughter-in-laws,  Diana Green and Vivian Green; nine-grandchildren: Chad (Pamela), Brian, Husani (S'londa), Tasha (Eric), Brandon, Reginald, Ta-Chana, Cedric and Ryan; eight great-grand children: Gabriel, Galen, Jonah, Kadience, Ethan, Austyn, Tyson and Laylah; a special niece, Willissa Smith; seven sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, six nieces, ten nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

We love you Sap, Daddy, Papa, and Uncle!
