The Obituary
John Lee Marsh, son of the late C.W. “Jake” & Thelma Marsh was born January 27, 1955, in Chatham County, North Carolina and transitioned to eternal rest on November 26, 2024, in Staley, NC
John was affectionally known by several nicknames, such as Johnny, Black Knight, White Eyes, and Pops by many.
Johnny was a loving person to everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed drag racing, working on cars, hunting, and fishing. He could often be found sitting out on his back deck laughing, talking junk, telling stories, and enjoying his friends.
Johnny was hardworking, always providing for his family. He was employed with Townsend Poultry and Pilgrim Pride for many years. Johnny was also the “PROUD” owner and operator of Marsh Auto Repair in Goldston, NC where he worked on family and friends’ automobiles. He took joy in driving his burgundy tow truck.
During Johnny’s younger years he attended Gethsemane Holy Church and Union Grove A.M.E Zion Church.
Johnny was united in holy matrimony to Bridgette Tysor Marsh on February 11, 2006.
Johnny loved his grandchildren and great grand. They all were the apple of his eye. There was nothing they could ask for that he didn’t try to provide.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard “Ricky” Marsh, nephew Lamont Marsh and his dog “Brownie” who passed away one day before him.
Many fond memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His wife Bridgette Tysor Marsh; one son Rishawn L. Seymore (Antoinette); two daughters Kyara Tysor, Senie Chesney; five grandchildren Armani, Brittany, Ty’Kerion, Kimani, and Darren; one great grandchild, Ka'Leigh; one brother Wayme Marsh; three sisters Phyllis Marsh, Doris Raines, and Debra Marsh; one brother in law Reggie McIver; three sisters in law Karen Marsh, Joanne Tysor, Bonita Times; four aunts Olivia Epps (Daniel), Joyce Smith, Tessie Watson, and Martha Wilson; one uncle Bobby Horton; mother in law Virgilene McLeod, god sister, Myron Headen Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
