Mr. John Gary Louden, Jr., age 42, of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his residence.
The Obituary
On January 16, 1983, John Gary Louden Jr., was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As the firstborn and eldest grandchild in both families, he soon became a lovingly playful and unselfish pillar to so many.
From a young age, John was granted a life of travel as a military dependent, which fueled his love for exploring new places with family and friends. Throughout his youth, John grew to love the Philadelphia Eagles, chess, meteorology, spades, and creating mazes. He excelled and received many accolades as an athlete in baseball, bowling, football, and wrestling. He had a beautiful mind, was creative and athletic, with a strong foundation of courage, hard work, and resilience.
As an adult, John continued to pursue his love of meteorology as a hobby while focusing on a career in computer science. He began his career in college, employed by Delaware State University’s Computer Sciences Department. Throughout his career, John made a multitude of accomplishments and advancements. His employment with SHI brought him joy through challenges and successes, particularly when achieving the seemingly unachievable, all while supporting his family. His achievements, combined with his education in business, fueled his desire to grow his business, ComputeLogic, into a one day national success. Simultaneously, he made significant contributions to charities such as Relay for Life of the American Cancer Society and the Miracle League of the Triangle. John enjoyed playing games with family and friends, pickleball, camping, fishing and anyone who knew him knew he loved football.
On the morning of Sunday, February 23, 2025, John entered into his eternal resting place at his home. He was fondly known as Bear, Johnnie, Jay, Brother, and DasLocs and will be remembered for his infectious smile, comedic relief, dependability, and kindheartedness. Through his dedication and service to others, he created a legacy of love, leaving a significant impact on all who met him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard Louden Sr. and James Barnes, his in-laws, (James Gray) and his uncles, Richard Louden Jr. and Jeffrey Louden.
John will live on through his father, John Gary Louden Sr. (Patti); his mother, Jennifer Louden (Douglas); his sister, Jenelle Willis (DeShawn); his dedicated wife of 20 years, NyChelle Louden; his children, Xavier and Xayna Louden; his grandmothers, Dorothy Barnes and Bernice Louden; his in-laws, John Green III (Geneva) and Shela Groce-Gray; his aunts, Janae Louden and Gwendolyn Drummer (J. Michael). In addition, John leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special recognition is extended for his brother, Benjamin Hawkins.
