Mr. John Edward Hicks, Jr., 81, of Sanford, NC entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. John Edward Hicks Jr., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in the comfort of his home in Sanford, NC.
John was born May 13, 1943, in Vance County, NC. He is son of late John E. Hicks, Sr. and Mattie Taylor Hicks. He was raised in a Christian home by his grandparents.
John was a graduate of Vance County School.
He went up North with his mother, where he met his wife, Patrice Dean, and joined in holy matrimony on August 9,1980, and were married for forty-four years. Moving back to Sanford, NC, where they raised and nurtured two children, Glen Hicks and Keisha McIver.
He worked thirty years at Magneti Marrelli were he retired. He loved music, baseball, and remodeling classic cars.
John was preceded in death by his youngest sister, Alice Hicks and one son, Johnathan Hicks.
He leaves behind Patrice (wife of home); sons, Corey Hicks of New York and Glen Hicks of Sanford, NC; one daughter, Keisha (Stevie) McIver of Sanford, NC; nine grandchildren: Corey, Travail, Damion, Heaven, Anaya, Christain, Cheyanne, Nevaeh, and Lyla; one sister, Georgie Sanders of Henderson, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family that loved him dearly.
