John Ralph Chalmers

Mr. John Ralph Chalmers, age 71 of 404 Carthage Street Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2021, at Central Carolina Hospital.

 John Ralph Chalmers was born March 6, 1949 to the late Claude Chalmers and Annie B. Tyson Chalmers.  He departed this life on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C.

John attended and graduated from W.B. Wicker High School in Sanford, N.C.  Shortly after high school, he served in the U.S. Army. He was united in holy matrimony to Linda Kutscher in 1994. He joined St. Marks United Church of God in 2016 where he was an active member.

Whether you were in need of a watermelon, cantaloupe, sweet potatoes or collard greens; he was your Man. His love of farming was evident in his produce, to know him was to love him. He was a jovial, kind-hearted, fun loving person.  Family and friends were very important to him and playing cards was his passion.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Tina and Ruby and brother Joe.

He leaves to mourn: his wife, Linda; brother, Claude Chalmers Jr. “CJ” (Alberta); sisters, Martha Ray of St. Albans, N.Y.; Betty Chalmers and Ada Petty of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mildred Petty of Sanford, N.C.; aunt, Ada Peoples of Bear Creek, N.C.; six step-children; ten grandchildren; one great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
