Mr. Jimmy Harrington, age 83 of Cleveland, OH, transitioned to eternal rest on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH.

Jimmy Harrington was born on May 20, 1941, in Sanford NC. Jimmy was raised by his mother, Mary Hayes Singletary and stepfather, John Singletary, Sr.

Jimmy was educated in Lee County, where he attended W.B. Wicker School and attended Wall Street Baptist Church as a young man.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Mary Singletary Taylor; stepfather, John Singletary Sr.; and one son, Jimmy Lewis McClean.

Jimmy was well known for his contagious smile, calm demeanor, and loving personality. He was always full of fun and always had a smile on his face.

Jimmy leaves to honor and cherish his memories, one son, Derek Heck (Louise) of Sanford NC; one daughter, Lorraine McGilveary (Tony) of Sanford NC; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ellis Singletary (Patricia) of Jacksonville NC and John Singletary (Ruby) of Bear Creek NC; one sister, Ester Mae Kersy of Fayetteville NC; one uncle, Daniel Singletary of Sanford NC; best friend, Theodis Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
