Mr. Jessie Clarence Elliott, age 88 of Vass, NC entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.
The Obituary
Jessie C. Elliott was born on July 29, 1935, in Harnett County to Jessie and Flora Elliott. He departed this life on October 25, 2023, at 4:52 a.m. in Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst N.C.
Mr. Jessie Elliott was a hard-working man who loved wearing a smile and did not meet any strangers. Mr. Elliott stopped attending school by the 3rd grade at Johnsonville Elementary to work and help his parents support his younger siblings. He worked in pulp wood and farming and would later help break the grounds for Woodlake Golf Course and Country Club in 1968 (Lake Surf). Mr. Jessie Elliott worked as a maintenance and groundskeeper technician which led to managing the department. Mr. Elliott would go on to work for Woodlake until 2017 when he retired due to a work injury. Although retired, he still remained very active. He continued to do landscaping at his own home, and for others as requested. Mr. Elliott enjoyed and loved life, his cats, fishing, dancing, music, and his family. His incredible strength and willpower to keep on going regardless will be forever missed but imparted in memory.
Mr. Jessie was married to his late wife, Ruth Inez McArthur for 49 years.
He leaves behind loving memories to his two children, Vanessa Lyvonne Kelly of Vass, NC, and Terry Lee Elliott of Cameron, NC; two sisters, Louise Holman of Washington, D.C, and Carrie Brown George (Will) of Daffney, SC; one brother, George Elliott (Carol) of Cameron NC; one sister-in-law, Moselle of Cameron, NC; seven grandchildren, Tonia Foxx (David), Travis Kelly (Anjalique), Reginald Kelly (Denise), Terris Taylor, Gayland Elliott (Jessica), Bryan Elliott, and Brycee Elliott; nine great-grandchildren, Kiano Kelly, Nadia Foxx, Tiona Kelly, Renee Kelly, Le’dia Foxx, Elijah Kelly, Amiyrah Eliott, Austen Elliott, and Taylor Kelly, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
