Jerry McGregory Jr.

Jerry McGregory Jr. age 76 of 18760 NC Hwy 27 W. Cameron, NC passed on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his residence.

Elder Jerry McGregory Jr., aka "Junebug", son of the late Jerry Malcolm and Myrtle McGregory was born in Harnett County.  He passed away quietly at home on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, a day after his late wife’s birthday. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Wilma McGregory; sisters, Ruby Hawkins and Mable Faulk; and brothers, James and Melvin McGregory. 

He lived most of his life in the Cameron, North Carolina area and attended Johnsonville High School. He was an Insurance Salesman for many years working with Independent Life. He was also a life-long member of Spout Springs Presbyterian Church  since early childhood.  

Jerry is survived by daughters, Sheila Moore (Billy) of Augusta, GA; Myrtle Ann McGregory of Winston Salem, NC; Denise Michelle McGregory of Atlanta, GA and Effie Nicole Leak of Charlotte, NC;  son Jerry Wade McGregory of the home; a brother, Willie McGregory of Cameron NC; one aunt, Susie Mae Williams of Jamaica, NY; sisters-in-law, Nettie Cameron, Barbara Gaines, Helen Johnson and JoAnn Hooker of Cameron, NC;  brother-in-law, John C. Johnson of Yonkers, NY nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
