Jerry Cole

Mr. Jerry Cole, age 56 of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his residence. 

Jerry Cole was born on February 25, 1968, to Bernice Cole and the late Freeman Cole Sr. He entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Jerry was educated in the Harnett County School System. While attending Western Harnett High School, Jerry was a member of the Varsity basketball team before receiving his diploma in June of 1988. After graduating Jerry started his career in Insulation, working alongside his older brother for many years. After being diagnosed with Epilepsy, Jerry had to give up what he loved to do and that was work.

Jerry liked to spend time with family, shop for tennis shoes and watch basketball and football. He was a true Tarheel and Dallas Cowboy fan but most of all Jerry was a true Laker fan, watching Kobe Bryant’s every move.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Freeman Cole Sr., a brother, Michael Anthony Cole and sisters, Flossie and Lena Mae Cole.

Those left to cherish his memory, his mother, Bernice Cole of Sanford, North Carolina; three sisters, Shirley Tucker, Annabel McDougald and Angela Cole, all of Sanford North Carolina; four brothers, Freeman Bethea of Connecticut, Leon McDougald of Sanford North Carolina, Freeman Cole Jr. (Joyce) of Raleigh North Carolina and Marvin Cole of Cameron North Carolina; maternal aunts, Mildred (Charles) of Maryland, Rose (Walter) of Cameron North Carolina, and Patricia McCrae of Elizabethtown North Carolina; paternal aunts, Pat Newby (Robert) and Connie Jacobs, both of Sanford North Carolina and Edith Cole of Florida. A best friend of many years, Donald Lucas and Jhene Richardson, a niece that he cherished and often called his daughter. Also to cherish Jerry’s memory is a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
