The Memorial Reflections
"With tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Mark 9:24
In His divine mercy and wisdom, God called JEREMY DA'QUAN MCKENDALL, better known as "QUAN" out of suffering and grief on this side and has now received his complete healing and victory on the other side from the cares of this world on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his residence.
Our beloved, JEREMY DA'QUAN MCKENDALL, was born in Lee County, North Carolina, on February 13, 1994, into the family of MISS BONITA MAXCINE MCKENDALL and Mr. Lester Smith as the youngest of three children. QUAN received his education through the Lee County Public School System. After school, QUAN worked hard and purchased his first vehicle, a BMW. He worked at various companies such as This Ends Ups, Arden, Core-Mark, and Mountaire Farms.
At a very young age, QUAN accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and became rooted and grounded at The Potter's House COGIC, Inc. in Sanford, NC, under the leadership of Dr. Grant A. Blue and Dr. Joyce A. Blue. He was a faithful and active member for seventeen years. He served on the Usher Board and sang in the youth choir.
QUAN was the sweetest person you'd meet. He would do anything in his power to help the next person even when he had nothing for himself! QUAN wasn't a regular person like you and me! He was a superhero, our SUPERHERO! He would be in the craziest situations, and he wouldn't stress it at all. He was a not to worry about it, kind of guy. He would say, I'm going to fix it, and whatever it was, he always nailed it! His favorite pastimes were cooking and watching "Snowfall" and "The Oval." QUAN didn't have kids, but his nephew Liam was his heart! Liam was his main talk! Liam this & Liam that. He enjoyed spending time with the family fur baby, Doson the Shih Tzu Dog. His favorite color was "Money Green." The sudden death of his oldest brother, JOSHUA MCKENDALL, twenty months ago shook QUAN so bad that he fell into a deep depression and could not recover. Nothing could console him because he missed his brother and cried and talked about him often. But today, JEREMY DA'QUAN MCKENDALL is at peace with God and is rejoicing with his brother in their happy heavenly home.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joshua McKendall; by his paternal grandfather, Mr. Charles Smith; maternal grandfathers: Mr. Thomas Lee McKendall, and Trustee George T. Covington.
QUAN leaves to honor and cherish his memories: his loving mother, MISS BONITA MAXCINE MCKENDALL of the home; his father: Mr. Lester Smith; his devoted and loving sister: MS.TE-NISHA "NIKKI" MCKENDALL of Sanford, NC; his brother: Carson LaCarter; his stepbrother: Mr. Ashley Wilson his, nephew: LIAM GRANT MCKENDALL; his devoted grandmother, DEACONESS HELEN J. QUAN had a very special girlfriend, SADIE BRIGHT. SADIE knew the real JEREMY as her SUPERHERO, and she was his BABYCAKES. She felt he was the best person to give all her love and time. They took care of each other and felt like they only had each other; his favorite Big Cousin: Mr. Wesley "Greatness" Raeford, and CJ Smith, his good friend: Mr. Todd Monroe; his lady friends: Ms. Kiona Williams, Ms. Novella Gilchrist; his road dog: Ms. Stacee Cameron and a host of other relatives and friends.
