Mrs. Janice Marie (Harris) Harrison, age 64, of Fayetteville, NC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

The Obituary

Janice Marie Harris-Harrison was born on March 12,1961 in Sanford, NC to the late, Calvin and Etrusia Harris. On the morning of Saturday, July 5, 2025, God gently called her home to a place of eternal peace and rest.

Janice deeply loved the Lord and devoted her life to serve him in spirit and in truth. Her unwavering faith was evident to all who knew her and remained steadfast until her final day.   

Janice attended Lee County Senior High School and then she went on to further her education at Fayetteville State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Janice accepted Christ in her life at an early age.

She attended New Hope AME Zion church and later joined Ebenezer Training Assembly Church. Then became a member at New Beginning Christian Center Church in Fayetteville, NC where she resided until her health declined.

Janice had such an unconditional love for people, her favorite pastime was shopping because she was truly a diva.

Janice was preceded in death by her mother and father, Calvin and Etrusia Harris; two brothers, Wayne and Erwin Harris; one sister, Delores Borders; and two brothers-in law, Clate Borders and Glen Smith.

Janice leaves to cherish her devoted and loving husband, James Harrison of thirty-four years.

In the unity of her marriage, she obtained two bonus children, Ashley Judd of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Malcolm Blue Sr., of Lillington, NC. She also obtained four bonus grandchildren and three bonus great grandchildren.

Janice leaves to cherish three brothers, George Harris (Sybil) of Baldwin, NY, Robert Harris of Cameron, NC, and Stephen Harris (Edwina) of Washington, DC; one sister, Theola Smith of Sanford, NC. She also leaves to cherish her in-laws, Carl Allen (Annie) of Spanaway, WA, Ronnie Harrison (Edith) of Killeen, TX, and Delois Harrison of Killeen, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
