Janet Louise (Douglas) Hill

Mrs. Janet D. Hill, age 67 of 4189 Lower River Road, Sanford, NC passed on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the home of her son, 4035 Lower River Road, Sanford, NC

Janet Douglas Hill was the first born to the late Lemuel Douglas and Josephine McRae Douglas on August 19, 1951 in Richmond, Virginia. She gained her wings on Sunday, February 10, 2019.

Janet was known to many as “Aunt Janet,” simply because of her big heart. Her doors were always open to anyone in need. She always encouraged those around her and gave advice when needed.

She graduated from W.B. Wicker High School. She later continued her education and graduated from Central Carolina Community College with an Associates degree in Paralegal Studies. She worked in the medical professional field and was employed at South Carolina State Hospital.

Janet was an active member at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter Hill; her daughter, Yolanda Larden Hooker; brother, Lemuel Douglas, Jr., and sisters, Pamela McNeill and Wilda Diane Walker.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a son, John “Paul” Larden (Latita); two daughters, September Lucas (Shaun) and Crystal Hill (Patrick); a son in law, Charles Hooker; three sisters, Barbara Aaron, Lisa Manning, and Lorenda Charity; two uncles, James R. Douglas (Ruthie) and Thomas W. Brice; nine aunts: Betty Lewis, Etha Baxter (Melvin), Hazel Atwater, Vera McKoy, Constance McRae, Faye Brice, Mary Brice, Diane Brice, and Laverne Douglas; her in-laws, Ronnie Hill (Martha), Irmo, SC; Greg Hill, James Reid Hill and Carolyn Hill all of Columbia, SC; Tony Hill, Las Vegas, NV; thirteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
