Mr. James Lee Street, Jr., age 55, of Sanford, NC entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.
The Obituary
Mr. James Lee Street, Jr., was born July 25, 1968, to the Late James L. Street Sr. and Frances Carolyn McNeill, at UNC Hospital. He took his flight to be with the Lord on Monday, August 7, 2023, from Central Carolina Hospital that evening.
In his early developmental years, James attended Warren Williams, W.B. Wicker, West Lee Middle, and Lee Senior High School, from which he graduated as a student bus driver, holding his CDL’s at the age of 17.
By the age of 18, Mr. Street had married the love of his life, LaKimbrelle Headen. To this union were born three beautiful children.
During James’ employment venture, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1988, served as a Federal Agent for the Department of Transportation (TSA), a Transportation Worker for NCDOT,
and a Detention Officer for Lee County Sheriff’s Office, prior to his declining health. Corporal Street went above and beyond the call of duty serving eight years on the Carolina Trace Volunteer Fire Department.
Street, as he was often referred to by other musicians, had a love for music, which stemmed from multi-generational guitar lovers…his father, and his father before him. Bro. James began thumping those bass strings at the early age of 7, to later become one of (if not) the baddest bass players on the east coast! However, maintaining a spirit of humility, Bro. Street’s talents
were used to give praises unto God! He could make the bass CRY!
Bro. Street was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Destiny where he co-directed “Psalms of the Heart- the pair willing to help repair”, the married couple’s ministry.
He was preceded by his brother, Randy Street.
James will truly be missed by all of us, but those who were closest shall cherish the memories greater, Lakimbrelle, Zack (James III), and Quantico of the home; daughters, Tiara White
