James Richard Lyons

James Richard Lyons, age 58 of 305 Burgess Circle, Broadway, NC transitioned into eternal rest Monday, July 20, 2020 at his residence.

James Richard Lyons born on August 7,1961 and ascended to his eternal life on July 19, 2020 He is the son of Elizabeth Lyons Richardson and the late Kidd M. Lyons and step-son, of Earl Richardson.

"Ricky" as he was affectionately called, graduated from high school in 1982 and afterwards he spent time with his family. He did farm work and enjoyed being outdoors cooking on the grill, helping his mom with household tasks and just hanging out, enjoying his life.

All of us that was blessed to know Ricky, can all say, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed walking, he enjoyed watching wrestling and his favorite TV show was Chicago P.D, he enjoyed having conversations with his friends and family and always ready to lend a hand whenever he could. Ricky enjoyed life and was a kind, gentle soul and even until his last day, he continued to be concerned for the well being of his family, still curious and checking to make sure all was well by giving an approving nod or a simple thumbs up.

After a 4 year battle with stage 4 cancer, God called our beloved Ricky home. Let the memories of his laugh, his smile and his big heart, give you solace and fill your heart with love to enjoy life the way he did with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lyons and step-brother, Sammy Lynn Richardson. Ricky came from a large family with many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles, all of which he loved.

Ricky is survived by Elizabeth and Earl Richardson, Bessie Richardson (Stevie), Kenny Lyons, Dot Wilson (Mark), Pamela Lyons, Lisa Lyons (Greg), Angela Lyons and step-siblings, Sandra Wise, Earl Richardson Jr. (Sheronda), Renee McLean, and Sarah Dowdy; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
