James Lewis Hill, Jr.

Mr. James Lewis Hill, Jr., age 70, of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan UNC Hospice Home.

James Lewis Hill Jr., “Buster” was born May 19, 1952, to the late James Lewis and Helen Hill in Lee County, NC.

He transitioned peacefully at SECU Hospice Home in Pittsboro, NC on Saturday, March 25, 2023, supported by his son and family.

James was known to many, and he never met a stranger.  He would give you the shirt off his back.  He worked for many companies washing cars, something he loved to do.  The family loved to hear him sing especially gospel music.  He loved his sisters.  He loved the Cowboys football and Carolina Blue Basketball game.  He also loved his son and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents:  James and Helen Hill, a brother; Robert Hill, three sisters, Maudie Hunter and Barbara Lee Hill, two brother-in-laws, David Fox, and Larry McAuley.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories:  his son, James Chisholm (Gina) and grandchildren:  Jaliyah and Gabrielle Chisholm, Kayah and Janya Elleyby, Lynchburg, VA,  three sisters:  Mildred Fox, Helen McAuley, and Barbara Lou Hill, Sanford, NC, three aunts:  Mary Hill, Betty Fox, Sanford, NC and Ann Hill, Newark NJ.  A “Special Friend” Shelby Boyd and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
