James Anthony (Disco) Brooks

Mr. James Anthony Brooks, age 59 of 135 Western Way Apt. 101 Pittsboro, NC passed on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Anthony James Brooks "Disco" was born October 7, 1959 to Mr. Sheldon D. Brooks and Mrs. Pauline McKinney Brooks. He was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

James attended Chatham County Schools, class of 1977. He was employed with John B Lumber Company in Pittsboro, NC. He was a devoted son, brother and uncle. He loved to cook, clean, iron clothes and keeping the yard clean. He was better known to all as "Disco" because he could dance all he wanted too. He was a hard worker.

He joined Staunton Memorial CME Church at a very early age, where he attended Sunday school, sang in the children choir and he was a faithful member when he was young. He also attended Belmont Church in Pittsboro NC.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Sheldon Brooks.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Sheldon D. Brooks; his mother Pauline McKinney Brooks, a brother Earl Vincent Brooks of Pittsboro, NC; two sisters, Marie Brooks of Pittsboro, NC and Jennifer Tucker of Saxapahaw, NC; four aunts, Aggie Mae Burgess, Juanita McKinney, Laura Mae Miller and Linda Joyce McKinney all of Pittsboro, NC and one uncle Leonard Brooks. A special friend, Ms. Patsy Headen and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
