The Obituary

Ja’Kai Amouri Walker was born to Jermaine and Jaslyn Walker, Sr. on July 13, 2023. Ja’Kai is the youngest of nine siblings. Though his time on earth was brief, Ja’Kai filled the lives of his family with boundless joy and love.

JaKai was an amazing little boy, bursting with energy and enthusiasm. Ja’Kai had a love for football, often delighting his family with his attempts to kick and chase after the ball, his laughter echoing in their hearts. His love for music and the microphone was evident as he would sway and bounce to the rhythm, singing and bringing smiles to all who heard.

As a natural climber, Ja’Kai’s adventurous spirit led him to explore every nook and cranny of his home, always with an infectious grin that illuminated the room. 

Ja’Kai was a brilliant little boy, surprising his family daily with the many things he was learning. His vocabulary was impeccable for his age. Though his time with family was fleeting, Ja’Kai’s impact was profound. He brought love, laughter, and the beauty of life’s simplest moments.

Ja’Kai is survived by his loving parents, Jermaine and Jaslyn Walker, Sr., who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.  He is also deeply missed by his siblings, Mario Walker, Santos Walker, Jaelin Batts, Jermaine Walker Jr., Jayden Walker, Jaliyah Walker, Zaada Smith, Angel Smith, and Tashauna Williams (Keith Williams), grandparents, Bernadette Walker and Jacquelyn Brittain. A host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom cherished his vibrant presence and the joy he brought into their lives.

Rest well, sweet Ja’Kai. You will always be our little star, shining brightly in our hearts. Mommy & Daddy Love You!!!
