Isaac Eugene Winston

Mr. Isaac Eugene Winston, age 78 of 451 Blanchard Rd., Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Central Carolina Hospital.

Isaac Eugene was born on October 17, 1941, in Franklin County, NC to Isaac E. and Etter Winston. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Lynn Winston, sister; Mary Jane McLean, father; Isaac Ezekiel (Buddy) Winston.

Isaac was affectionately known as “Buck”, “Uncle Buck”, “Uncle Isaac”, “Papa Smurf”, and “Billy Dee”. Raised on a farm, he learned the value of hard work early in life. He graduated from Johnsonville School in Harnett County.

Isaac made a career of long-distance truck driving in which he drove for and retired from D.P. Gallimore and Sons Trucking Company. At other times, he also worked for J.T. Neighbors Trucking and Nelson Trucking Companies.

Isaac enjoyed participating in community activities such as grilling for church cookouts and providing cantaloupes and watermelons for the senior citizens on July 4th for several consecutive years.

Isaac leaves to cherish his memories a son; Michael (MeShonda) Winston and daughters; Lisa Dorman and Queenie Winston, all of Fayetteville, NC, three step-children; Brian Martin, Myra McMillon, and Shakita Curry, six grandchildren, Shawn, Laterika, Christian, James, Kahleem, and Raheem, two step-grandchildren; Jalen and Sierra all of Florida, four great-grandchildren; Jayden, Aidyn, Benjamin, and Alexandria,  mother; Etter Winston, devoted niece, and caregiver, Katherine Winston of the home, a devoted niece; Shirley Wilson of Florida and a special friend; Ms. Sharon Fleming of Cameron, NC
