Henry Roderick Alston "Booney"

Mr. Henry "Booney" Roderick Alston, age 59 of Pittsboro, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Monday, February 26, 2024. 

Henry Roderick Alston was born on January 11, 1965, to the late Frank Henry Alston and Mary Catherine Alston in Orange County, NC. The angels received him on Monday February 26, 2024, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Rod joined Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until the Heavenly Angles called him Home.  He was also a member of the Mitchell Chapel Male Chorus that he dearly loved.

Rod graduated from Northwood High School with the class of 1983, he played football and was a bus driver. After graduation he attended and played football at North Carolina Central University in Durham North Carolina.  After leaving NCCU he went to work with UNC Hospitals and retired with twenty-six years of service.

Rod was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and an uncle.

Rod is survived by his sons, Henry Patrick Alston of the home and Roderick Deshawn Alston (Briana) of Mebane, North Carolina; one brother, Kendrick D. Alston of Pittsboro,North Carolina; two aunts, Willie Ann Pattisall and Helen Alston; three first cousins, Jacqueline Pattisall, Erika Green (Johnny), and Reginald Alston and a host of cousins and friends.
