Mrs. Hazel Mae Alston, age 87, of Pittsboro, NC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at her residence.

Hazel Alston, a beloved member of the Pittsboro community, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on February 28, 1937, to the late Talbert and Lular Alston Headen. Hazel was known for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering positivity. She was a pillar of strength and wisdom, always ready to lend a listening ear. Hazel's warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Hazel attended school in Siler City. She accepted Christ at a very young age and became a lifelong member of Mitchell Chapel Church where she held various roles. She was a member of the Evening Star Chapel Post #617. Hazel was a Childcare Provider for numerous children which became her passion.
Hazel leaves to cherish her memories, Jennie Setzer, John Alston, Barry Alston, Mary Alston Brooks, Donal (Anne) Alston, Charity Alston, Denise Taylor; two bonus sons Kenneth Setzer and Calvin McDonald; four brothers, LT (Alice) Headen, Grady (Theresa) Headen, Jimmy and Michael Sutton; three sisters, Louise, Beulah and Mattie Sutton; one Brother n law, Joseph Alston; six grandchildren, Kyong, Quentin (Dicey), Anita (Justin), Kenneth Jr. (Michelle), Dominique and Melvis; eleven great grandchildren and a numerous amount of god children.
