Hamp Beck Jr.

Hamp Beck Jr., age 67 of 311 Stoney Moss Dr., Raleigh, NC passed on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his residence. 

Hamp Beck, Jr. was born in Lee County, North Carolina on August 9, 1951 to the late Hamp Beck, Sr. and Mary Meta Upchurch.

He attended Lee Elementary School, W.B. Wicker School and graduated from Greenwood Elementary/High school in 1970.

Hamp Jr. worked various jobs after graduation before entering the military where he served for 13 years. After being honorably discharged from the army, he worked various other jobs until he retired in 2017.

As a young boy, he attended Marsh Memorial AME Zion Church, Pineridge Baptist Church and in 2016 joined Covenant Christian Church in Southern Pines.

He was a proud father and grandfather.

He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Anthony Beck (Holly) of Couer da lene, Idaho.; a brother, William (Linda) of Sanford, NC.; sister Mary D. Gilmore of Spring Lake, NC.; one uncle, William Herbert Upchurch of Aberdeen, NC; three grandchildren: Brooklyn, Quinton and Jace; two nieces, Jasmine Beck and Yolanda Jennings (James); one nephew, Ladarrell Gilmore; a very special best friend, James Battle of Fayetteville, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of Linda Beck at 19 Bargin Lane, Sanford, NC 27332
