The Obituary
On March 29, 2025, our dearly beloved one Georgia Mae (Palmer) Williams went home to be with the Lord. She was born on October 18, 1947, to the late Neller Mae Palmer and George Palmer of Sanford, North Carolina.
Georgia joined St. Paul AME Zion Church at a very young age, where she was a devoted member. She served as President of the Usher Board, Missionary Department (Supply) and the Kitchen Committee for many years.
She attended and graduated from W. B. Wicker High School in Sanford, NC. She worked at the Koury Company, Microfilm Company and she retired from the Lee County School system after 29 years of service, she was a very hard worker.
Georgia enjoyed cooking, gardening and let’s not forget her yard sales, in which she called "being out and about” and meeting many friends along the way. Georgia was wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend. She was a giver, always looking to help others in need. Georgia was a very outspoken woman, and she meant what she said.
She was called by several names: Mami, Georgia Mae, Grandma Georgia, Georgia girl, Baldie, Georgee, Ms. Williams, and Doctor Williams, in her own rights; and she answered to them all.
Georgia will be greatly missed but her loving memories will forever linger in the hearts of her family and friends. We find comfort in knowing that she enjoyed life to the fullest, always smiling, we have assurance in knowing that she has received her healing.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Glenda Lee Palmer of Sanford, NC.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Reginald Williams (Lisa, her rider dire daughter-in-law) Sanford, NC; one special granddaughter, Asia Williams (Fiancé Kelby Hicks) Youngsville, NC; one special grandson, Jaiden Williams of Sanford, NC; the apple of her eye, great-granddaughter, Kemani Hicks of Youngsville, NC; one sister, Wilma Palmer of Sanford, NC; one honorary daughter, Jasmine Graham, of Sanford, NC; one God-Brother, Kenneth McIver of Sanford, NC; one God-Sister, Porchia Donnell of Greensboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
