Mr. Freddie Daniels, age 93, of Cameron, NC, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 08, 2024, at Atrium Cleveland Hospital in Shelby, NC.
The Obituary
Freddie Daniels, Sr. went to his heavenly home on December 8, 2024. He was born on December 30, 1930, to Will and Mima Daniels in Colon NC. Freddie was the oldest living member of the Wood and Woods legacy.
On November 12, 1964, he married the love of his life, Laura Ree Blue. They shared forty-nine years of love until her passing in 2013.
He accepted Jesus as his savior at early age where he attended Mt Calvary in Colon, NC. He moved with his family to Alexandria, VA, during his youth. He worked for forty years with the United States Postal Service and retired in 1989.
He attended St John’s FWB Church and then New Hope FWB church in Washington DC until he relocated to Cameron NC. He joined Mt. Nebo FWB church in Lemon Springs, NC.
Freddie enjoyed sharing his many pictures, slides, listening to music on his reel to reel, record player, gardening and more than anything he loved sharing stories about his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Willie James Daniels, and one sister, Janie Bell Nelson.
Freddie leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Melvin Daniels, Sr. (Capital Heights, MD), Sylvester Daniels (Karen) of Raleigh, NC, Freddie Daniels, Jr. (Pam) of Lanham, MD; two daughters, Fredia D. Green (Wade deceased) of La Plata, MD and Shanda Daniels of Gastonia, NC; a special daughter, Natika Boyke of Hampton VA; other special children, Charles, Lewis, and Printess James, Ray Hardy, and Phillip B Carter; one brother-in-law, Frank Hardy, Houston, TX; six sisters-in-law, Barbara Daniels of Ladysmith, VA, Lula Blue of Sanford, NC, Rutha Ray of Broadway, NC, Georgia Carter of Augusta, GA, Geraldine Blue of Sanford, NC and Lelia Blue of Sanford, NC; god mother, Millie Harris; twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special friends, Felton Swan, Linwood Carter, and Ben Edwards.
