Franklin Quick Obituary

Franklin Matthew "Mac" Quick, age 53 of Sanford, North Carolina passed on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital.

Franklin Matthew Quick, the son of the late Brenda Quick Greene and Sandy Murchison was born on November 30, 1966, in Lee County, North Carolina.

“Mac” graduated from Lee Senior High School 1985 and  he was a member of the Knight Cruisers Motorcycle Club.

Everyone who knew “Mac” knew he loved to cook big meals feeding family and friends.  He also participated in feeding the community at the People Loving People events for the past several years.  Early in his life he was a painter, a brick mason and basically a jack of all trades, but the job that he loved most was working at Knotts Funeral Home, no matter what time of night or day, whether in pain or not, if the funeral home called “he was gone”.

“Mac” was a member of Works for Christ Christian Center. He loved the Lord and didn’t mind letting you know how good the Lord had been to him.

He was preceded in death by: mother, Brenda Quick Green; father, Sandy Murchison; sister, Sandy Jackson; brothers, Bernard Murchison and Jermaine Murchison; his grandmothers, Bernice Quick Briggs and Nettie Corina Murchison; and grandfathers, Wade Lee Harrington and James Murchison.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 23 years, Myra Quick of the home; one daughter, La-Kristyn McLean (Antrell), of Sanford, NC; sons, Rodney Reaves of Raleigh, NC, Franklin Dorsett of Sanford, NC, and Anthony Dorsett of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren whom he loved and adored: Talyah and Liam McLean, TreShun Reaves, Patrick Clemmons and Kamron Reaves; one sister, Deneice Daniels of Englewood NJ; four brothers, Michael Quick (Marie) of Dunn, NC, James Murchison of Philadelphia PA, Eric Quick of Detroit, MI and Arrick Murchison of Sanford NC; six aunts: Merdie McFadden, Dora Williams (Micheal), Doris Richmond, Anne McKoy (Lester);  Jessie Ruth Mims (Phillip) and Carol Lyles all of Sanford, NC; a mother in love, whom he loved dearly, Yvonne Covington of Sanford, NC;  goddaughter, Nyla Bynum; his “Six Pack”  whom he loved as his brothers and sisters, which included “The Quicks”, “The McLeods” Charles and Lisa, and  “The Wilsons” Randy and Shawanda; other close friends, Josette Blue, John Paul Taylor, Charles Monroe, Zane Marks and Michael Fox; and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
