Frank Murphy Jr.

Frank Murphy Jr., age 72 of 1908 Carr Creek Dr., Sanford, NC passed on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.

Mr. Frank Murphy “Jack” Jr. was born on June 14, 1946, in Chesterfield, South Carolina, to the late John Murphy Jr. and Gracie Lee Thomas Murphy.  He departed this life on April 19, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.

Frank attended Emmanuel Glorious Church.  He went to W.B. Wicker School.  He worked at Sanford Brick & Tile for over 20 years as a supervisor.  He also worked at Sanford Finishing and Wyeth as a Security Guard.

Frank loved his family and he laid a good foundation on family structure and values.  He was a very good provider and strong leader.  He accepted the Lord into his life and he always served by giving.  He was a man of wisdom and a good listener and advisor.  He loved to cook. Get him to tell it and he was the Jack of all trades.  He was normally a happy, outgoing person and full of life, but he was Frank and he did not mind speaking his mind.  And loved working on cars and those 73 Buicks. He was united in holy matrimony for 51 years to Fannie Mae Murphy. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Frank Murphy Jr.

He leaves to cherish his amazing life, his wife, Mrs. Fannie Mae Murphy of the home; his daughter, Sonia A. Murphy of Sanford, NC; his sons, Jack A. Murphy (Gertrude) of Sanford, NC; and Brian Murphy, Sr. (Erica) of Spring Lake, NC; seven grandchildren, Marcus, LaSonya, Dennis, Chasity, Jerrell, Brian Jr. and Dynasti;  eleven great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild;  two sisters, Gracie Mae Heck of High Point, NC and Mary Lee Williams of Sanford, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
