Ms. Flora Blue, age 97 of Broadway, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.

Flora Blue, the daughter of the late Roxie and Rich Blue, was born on December 4,1926 in Harnett County, NC. She departed her life on June 9, 2024 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, North Carolina.
Flora was a pillar of strength and love, a firm believer in the Lord, selfless and a loving mother to her family and the community.
She attended school at Ridgeway Elementary School in Harnett County and graduated from Johnsonville High School.
She was an avid reader, especially the Bible. She loved crossword puzzles, playing Solitaire, working in her vegetable garden and especially her flower garden. Most of all she loved sharing good times with her family and friends over a scrumptious meal. Flora was a hometown girl who spent her time heavily involved with the community. Flora was a farmer, a health care nurse and a postal worker.
Flora joined Union Grove United Methodist Church at an early age where she was a dedicated member until her death. She served in many capacities, a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Trustee, Nurturing Committee Chair, Pastor Parrish Relations Committee, and member of the groundbreaking committee for the current church building.
Flora was preceded in death by her two brothers, Eddie Blue and James Blue.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Bettie McAuley, Franklin Prince (Pat) and Margie Raymond (Tyrone), and a special daughter who was a staple in the home, Debra McDougal (Cleo); eight grandchildren, Teshona McAuley, Shawanda Wilson (Randy), Ingrid McAuley, Eric Blue, Patronia Smith (Brandon), Patresha Prince, Shonvon Raymond, and Inga Raymond-Sykes (Martel); sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two special cousins, Alice Faye Cox and Nora McDougald, and a host of nieces and nephews.
