Ferinand “Darnell” Walker, age 64 of 17 Country Estate Rd., Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at home.

Mr. Ferdinand Walker, son of the late Ernest J. Walker and Daisy M. Ferguson Walker was born on September 1, 1959, in Dunn, NC.

Ferdinand was educated at Anderson Creek High School in Bunnlevel, NC. He went to job corps where he learned many trades. From there he started working at Trion where he gave them 37 years until he retired in 2022.

Ferdinand, as he was affectionally known by everyone, loved to work on cars, paint, weld and drag racing. His smile and laughter would brighten up a room. He would hangout out with family and friends and was an awesome father to Marchelle. Marchelle was his reason for everything. He would move mountains to make certain that his daughter was happy. There was never a day that went by that you didn’t hear a story about his daughter.

Even though Ferdinand is no longer here with us in the flesh, his legacy will continue to live on through his only daughter, Marchelle R. Burns (Nashaunda); one stepson, William J. Burns of Sanford, NC; one grandson, Dante J. Burns and one granddaughter, Amelia N. McNeill, Both of Sanford, NC; two godsons Akil Clegg of Sanford, NC and William Mckoy of Spring Lake, NC; one god daughter, Tiffany Scriven of Spring Lake, NC; life partner, Tonya Burns of Sanford, NC; one sister, Bertina Walker of Bunnlevel, NC; one brother, David E. Elliott of Bunnlevel, NC; one aunt, Annie P. Walker of Bunnlevel, NC; two lifelong friends, David Jackson of Sanford, NC, and Joe Taylor (Kathy) of Sanford, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
