Eugene Hooker, Jr.

Mr. Eugene Hooker, Jr., age 79 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Eugene Hooker Jr. aka "Hook" or "Willie",  was born in Sanford, NC to the late and great Mrs. Pauline Chalmers Hooker and Mr. Eugene Hooker Sr. on April 24, 1943. He went on to glory on September 9, 2022.

Being an only child, Eugene taught himself the art of drawing at a very young age. He loved watching sports. His favorite teams were the UNC Tarheels and the Dallas Cowboys. He worked in the custodial field for many years at Floyd L. Knight and a couple more department stores in Sanford.

He was preceded in death by the lovely Beatrice Dianne McNeill Hooker on September 9, 2022. He will be fondly remembered by his family. He leaves behind three children; Tara Barnes, David Hooker (Betty), and Meshelle Hooker, his grandchildren; Yolanda, Rickey, Jamel, JaQuan, and Jaydann.  Three great-grandchildren; Divine, Khaliyah, and Iris. A host of many loving nieces and nephews and cousins and friends were there to the end.

My Daddy loved the Lord and he also loved his family and always spoke highly of them. He lost his sight, but he can see clearly now. He couldn't walk, but he is up and running now. And he always wanted to get back out of that nursing facility, but he is home now! We will forever miss you and love you. All the glory belongs to God..His grace endures.
