Ethel Geraldine (Mauldin) Peakes

Ms. Ethel Geraldine Peakes, age 79, transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Liberty Commons in Sanford, NC.

I am gone on to where I hope you think I am. Don”t say that I am in heaven because you will not know until you leave this earth. Then you will know where I am. I tried to love and treat everyone right according to the way God would have me do it.  Miss me and go through the grieving process. Remember me and the good times we had together. Also think of the times I made you mad. Just remember that I always loved you no matter what. Live your life so that God will call you home to be with him one day. Be nice, kind, and friendly to all you meet.

Ethel G. Peakes was born in Jonesboro (Sanford) N.C. and was the daughter of the late John McNeil and Margie  Verbal. She lived most of her life in Sanford, N.C. before relocating to New Jersey where she met Jacob Peakes and started her family. She later returned to Sanford N.C. where she remained for the rest of her life living, loving and serving God to the fullest.

She transitioned from this earth on Thursday June 3rd into the arms of our Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Andrew Mauldin and Jason Christopher Peakes, sister Johnnie  Verbal and brother John McNeil.

She is survived by one daughter, Eisha G. Fox currently of Cameron NC; four grandchildren, Kweli Fox, Kayla Fox, Dajah Fox of Baltimore, MD and DeAndre Mitchell of Cameron NC. She also leaves one great grandchild, Geniya Fox of Baltimore, MD; three brothers, Thomas A Verbal of Cameron, NC, and Millard Mauldin of Miami, FL. and David McNeil of Sanford NC; five sisters, Betty L. Washington of Allendale, SC, Clautenna Saunders of Fayetteville, NC, and Barbara Sneed of Philadelphia, PA, Joyce McNeil and Judy Mae Adams of Sanford, NC and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves a special brother, Tony Ricarte Bradley of Sanford NC.
