Emmanuel Dominic Tykei Smith, was on born March 8, 2025, at 3:07am at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Emmanuel transitioned from earth to heaven on March 18,2025.
Emmanuel was the son of Steven Smith of Southern Pines, NC and Khadijia Pride of Southern Pines, NC.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rosemary Gary; one brother, Jeremiah Smith.
Emmanuel was a special boy who was loved by many, his family and friends patiently and excitedly waited the arrival of his birth. He surprised everyone having entered the world at only six months old. He came in strong and fighting like the little warrior prince he was. He was a ray of sunshine for his parents. He shocked both doctors and nurses by his ability to do what other babies at his age could not. His nurses often reminded his parents of how active and strong he was. However, sickness came, and surgeries took place shifting Emmanuel from his earthly home to his heavenly resting place.
Emmanuel is survived by two grandmothers, Barbra Smith of Whiteville, NC and Markeesha Lunsford-Pride of Pinebluff, NC; two grandfathers, Steven Brunson of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jeffrey Pride of Pinebluff, NC; five sisters, Ny’asia Mason, Ayva Pride, Zy’asia Smith, Key’ziah, and Yazlynn Smith; two brothers, Macari Monroe and Zaylin Smith; eleven aunties, four uncles, and a host of other family and friends.
