Elizabeth Lyons (Baucom) Richardson

Mrs. Elizabeth Richardson, age 79 of 312 Burgess Circle, Broadway, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at her residence.

Elizabeth Lyons Richardson was born on September 30, 1940 and ascended to her Heavenly home on July 25, 2020.  She was the daughter of the late James Hue and Mary Baucom. 

Moma Liz, everyone affectionately called her, was everyone’s Moma. After spending the earlier years of her life working on the farm, she attended CCCC to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and continued her employment caring for nursing home patients, a job in which she truly enjoyed.  Liz made many friends through her life journey, all of whom she never forgot and continued to share funny stories about for many years.  She always had a story to tell you about some part of her life and oh those stories, only she knew how to tell them in detail from beginning to end, and most of them would begin with “let me tell you about the time.....”.  The rest of that story is going to be about, fishing, cooking, gardening, farm work or a friend and the list goes on, because you see, she lived her life without pause.  The life of Moma, Moma Liz and Granny, it’s endless and eternal because if you are reading these words, well you too, have a story to tell about this wonderful woman everyone loves so much.

Elizabeth was a devoted member of Green’s Chapel Church in Lillington. Although she wasn’t able to attend church after her health declined, she did not waiver from her faith in God. 

She is preceded in death by a husband, Kidd Maynard Lyons; daughter, Mary Lyons; her son, James (Ricky) Lyons; great-granddaughter, Aisha Tysor and Mic’Quettia R. Lyons; brother, Bobby Goodman; sister, Betty Lou Baucom; step-son, Sammy Lynn Richardson and step-daughter,  Diane Rollins.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Earl Richardson; her children, Bessie Richardson (Stevie), Kenny Lyons, Dot Wilson (Mark), Pamela Lyons, Lisa Lyons (Greg), and Angela Lyons; four siblings, Helen Blakeney, Houston Baucom, Robert Baucom and Louise Locklear; step-children, Sandra Wise, Earl Richardson Jr. (Sheronda), Renee  Dowdy, and Sarah Dowdy and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
