Edwin A. Smith

Mr. Edwin A. Smith "Eddie" passed away peacefully at 73, surrounded by loved ones in Sanford, NC on September 5, 2024. Eddie was born December 26, 1950, in Lebanon NH. He attended Crotched Mountain for the Deaf and graduated from Mascoma Valley in NH. 

He was known to be a man of many trades working at IPC, Trumble Nelson, Security, and Timken.  

He enjoyed watching wrestling, karate, puzzles, hunting, fishing, football, baseball, collecting coins, enjoying many styles of music, and watching westerns with his family.  

Preceded in death by his father Eugene Oscar Smith Sr., his mother Loretta Thibodeau Smith, and brother Edmond Avery Smith.  

He Eddie is survived by his loving brother Eugene Smith Jr., his loving sister Endora Smith, and her lifelong partner David Ritchason. His children are Carrie Lynn, Dallas Smith, and Cassie Smith. Nephew and nieces Jake and Patty Smith and family, Amanda and Mark Girard and family, Chrystal Shinn and family, Ashley and Matt Hibbard and family. As well as his lifelong best friend Sharon Strong and his best dog friend Little Foot.  

Eddie’s departing words to his friends and family are “Life is too short, live life to the fullest, no regrets.”  

The family would like to thank Hospice (Dunn Office- Raven, Ashley, and staff. Also, the Hospice (Sanford Office-Christine and aids).  A heartfelt thanks goes out to Liberty Commons Nursing Home (Leslie, Maria, Ashley, and many more staff that worked with Eddie. The family would also like to thank Knotts who Showed the utmost respect, and compassion, making arrangements easier and peaceful during our time of grieving.  

Eddie will be laid to rest at a later date in New Hampshire.
