Ms. Edith Frances Suitt, age 90 of 1602 E. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

 I’d like the memory of  me to be a happy one.  I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.  

I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun, Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

Edith "Frances" Suitt was the daughter of the late Jennie Green Suitt and Benjamin Franklin (Frank) Suitt.  She departed this life on May 12, 2020 at Signature Healthcare in Chapel Hill, NC.

Frances joined Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Creedmoor, NC at an early age.  She was an active member there until her father's health began to decline.  Family was very important to her; she gladly devoted her entire life in helping to take care of her father and later her younger sister, Florence who preceded her in death.

Although she started her educational pursuit in Granville County, once her family moved to Chapel Hill, NC, she continued her education at Orange County Training School.

She leaves to mourn: one sister, Nolie Mae West of Greensboro, NC; one niece; Lecia Harris(Thelbert) of Chapel Hill, NC; five great-nieces, Genise Brigman of Mebane, NC, Charlene Brigman of Raleigh, NC, Rosa Lee Brigman of  Chapel Hill, NC, Diana West of Durham, NC, and  Kansas Harris of Chapel Hill, NC ; and one great nephew, Cornelius "Clay" Brigman of Durham, NC.  Because of Frances love for family, a tribute also goes out to all of her cousins, other relatives as well as all of her friends.
